Welcome to Regional Studies Center – University of Mosul

We are pleased to welcome you to the official page of the Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul, an academic institution established in 1985 as one of the first specialized research centers in Iraq and the region.

The Center is dedicated to monitoring and analyzing regional and international issues, stemming from the University of Mosul’s position as a prestigious academic institution that places great emphasis on specialized research centers. This reflects the university’s recognition of the importance of such centers in supporting national vision and enhancing the university’s intellectual role in its local and regional environment. About the Center

Regional Studies Center was established on August 24, 1985, as the “Turkish Studies Center”. The Center’s interest was expanded to include in addition to relations with the northern neighbor “Turkey”, the Central Asian republics of the former Soviet Union. On September 7, 2003, the Center’s attention has grown to involve all of Iraq’s neighboring countries, and certainly the Center, over the past 25 years, has worked and sought to provide studies, research, books, seminars, workshops, symposiums, and conferences that follow Iraqi affairs and its regional surrounding to develop Read More
