Quality
and
performance of
university section
This section is
administratively headed by the president of the university and
concerned with the quality of performance at the university in all
areas where the performance of the teaching staff and details of
their work, as well as technical and administrative cadres in the
university to mention the identification of differentiation in
performance according to criteria approved by the Ministry at the
level of universities in the country. In order to raise the level of
scientific and professional to the outputs of the university
students and graduates in all disciplines that provide the channels
to work in community with those of specialized personnel, and within
the university plan to assess the work in the quality system in
accordance with a specific strategy , we established this council
according to the university order No. 9/13/19834 at 21/12/2008

The council adopted a quality assurance in the university and since
its inception hold periodic meetings of its members to discuss the
requirements of the application of TQM in the university. The
meetings included lectures to explain concepts of quality and review
of global and regional experiences in this area. The council has
been hosted some of the specialists such as the president of
university and a group of researchers to discuss the foundations to
build a successful system fits with the nature of our university
and achieve the main goals that was adopted by the quality system in
the world.
* Meanwhile, preparations were made to start the actual and
practical implement of the quality program, starting from this year
through the configure of some scales and questionnaires to maintain
the documentation the educational system in the colleges of the
university as a whole. The council is keen to respond to the
invitations to attend conferences, seminars and workshops held under
the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific
research where there was a presence of some members of the Council
in the first and second Conference, convened by the ministry for two
years (2009-2010) .The council also participated in workshops held
by the ministry.
Tasks carried out by the Quality Assurance and university
performance section : -
The section is composed of three divisions: -
1-
Division of
Quality Assurance:
The tasks of this division are the following:
Performing evaluation
and quality assurance of the faculties of the university and the
academic and administrative units.
Support colleges and
academic departments to introduce the principles and standards of
academic accreditation.
Contribute to the holding of seminars, workshops and scientific
conferences in partnership with colleges and departments within and
outside the university.
Development of
performance management for staff and academic leaders through
continuing training and development for the capacity they have.
Dissemination and use
of modern technology and communication management and creating an
environment of e-learning at the university.
Setting general
standards for self-evaluation to be followed by the colleges and
evaluate the reports required of them.
Devoting
the concept of quality and disseminating it in the university and
follow up the implementation procedures in order to raise efficiency
and improve performance.

Division of
university performance: -
The tasks of the Division are the following: -
Disseminating the
evaluation files which send by the Ministry of Higher Education and
Scientific Research (the file calendar of performance university,
evaluation files of the performance of high academic leaders ,
evaluation files of the performance of faculty members, evaluation
files of the performance of technical administrative staffs ) on the
status of university , colleges, centers and departments in order to
secure the obtaining of accurate and consolidated information and
send it to the ministry within the specified time.
Promoting the concept
of quality and good performance in higher education and explain its
role in serving the individuals and society as well as seeking to
hold periodic meetings and seminars to raise awareness and promote
the concept of performance, quality assurance and explain their
significance in order to reach international quality standards.
Conduct analytical
studies about the files calendar, for example, what was performed on
a file to evaluate the performance of faculty members and provide a
modified form of the original file was submitted to the Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research and the results of this
study has been adopted and the ministry stop the work on evaluation
file and we are waiting the ministry to determine the modified
mechanism of action proposal amended by our University.

Division of
Technical Support and training: -
The tasks and duties are the following: -
The establishment of short and intensive courses to develop and
improve performance for all members of the university.
Holding workshops,
seminars and symposia in the field of academic development.
Enhance learning
through technology for faculty members to provide the means and all
the appropriate software.
Contribute to the provision of grants and scholarship opportunities
at home and abroad
Coordination and
partnership with institutions of higher education within the country
and outside the Arab world and in the field of academic development
and research for faculty members.
Providing advice to members of the faculty of experts in the
teaching and evaluation methods.
Providing an
opportunity for faculty members to join the self-development
programs.
Maintaining the developments of administrative systems and work to
be applied to raise the efficiency of the administrative units of
the university.
Continuous
improvement and development of the capabilities and skills of staff
through courses and workshops.
