On Sunday, 9/19-2021, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Mosul discussed the master's thesis by student Iyad Muhammad Khalaf Suleiman and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Yassin Qassem Yahya entitled (The Cap and Weight Distribution and its Relationship with the Spectrum of Optimal Linear Codes in PG(3,13.

 

The thesis dealt with how to create a perfect cap in PG(3,13) projective space and find the maximum (k,2)-cap which is called the ellipse.

The thesis dealt with solving the basic problem in linear ciphers, which is how to find the parameters of the cipher and how to build new optimum ciphers.

The thesis aims to study the relationship between the perfect covers in PG(3,13) and the linear codes for the smallest distance, as well as finding the weight distribution of the linear codes on the field F13 and then finding the spectrum for each code.

 

The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nizar Hamdoun Shukr, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Faisal Karim from the University of Baghdad and Assistant Professor Zubaydah Muhammad Ibrahim, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Yassin Qassem Yahya.
