The aim of the research of the Iraqi Board Student in Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery, Sufyan M. Ahmad, entitled "Comparative Study on Endoscopic Dacryocystorthinostomy (DCR) Surgery with Silicone Tube Intubation and without Silicone Tube Intubation" on Wednesday,16th June 2021. Note that a laparoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy is a safe and effective way to treat the distal stenosis of the common tear duct.

It was concluded that the use of silicone tubes is not always necessary.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad (chairman), Prof Dr Basil M. Nathir Saeed (member), consultant physician Dr Marwan F. Barea (member), and consultant physician Dr Raghadan M. Daoud Al-Hamdani (supervisor). After the discussion, the committee's decision was read including accepting the research after making some minor modifications to it.

Among the attendees were the scientific assistant of the University of Mosul, Prof Dr Munir S. Taha, the Official of the Arab Board (Mosul Training Centre), the consultant doctor Rafea H. Al-Qazzaz, the Scientific Vice-Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, and the Head of the Department of Surgery, Prof Dr Samir I. Al-Saffar. It was also attended by a group of medical faculty from Universities of Mosul and Nineveh, and a number of specialist doctors from the Nineveh Health Department and graduate students.
